FREE TAX HELP & E-FILINGS
AARP tax aides of Whiteside County will be preparing 2011 tax returns this year for low and middle-income taxpayers. It is not necessary to be a member of AARP or of a particular age to participate in this program.

Appointments start at 10:30am, Tuesdays, only.

Tax preparation will be for individual taxes, not for businesses such as farm income, rentals, partnerships or other business returns.
Taxpayers are reminded to bring a copy of last year's tax return, Social Security cards or other official documentation for themselves and all dependents together with any of the following documents that apply to 2010:
" W-2 forms showing income from each employer.
" Unemployment Compensation statements.
" SSA-1099 forms showing Social Security benefits received.
" RRB-1099 or RRB-1099R forms showing railroad retirement benefits received.
" All forms (1099-INT, 1099-DIV, 1099-B, etc) showing interest and/or dividends.
" Documentation showing original purchase prices of assets sold.
" 1099-MIS forms showing any miscellaneous income.
" 1099-R forms for pensions and annuities.
" All forms indicating income taxes paid.
" Dependent care provider information (name, address, employee ID or
" Social Security number).
" Receipts, cancelled checks, or other records for itemizing deductions.
" Real Estate Tax receipt with the registered lot number.
